The Deadliest Sin, Part II

Three weeks ago, I posted about the deadliest sin, pride.  Surprisingly to me, but not to God, our pastor at The Vine spoke about pride in our Sundayworship service the following week.  He referenced these verses in James and used it as a springboard for his message.

James 4: 13-16 - Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”16 As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.

Our life is but a mist.  It is so insignificant relative to God's overall plan.  We must concede our plans to His and take our rightful place in his kingdom.  Any boasting we do must be boasting in the Lord and boasting of what the Lord is doing in us.  If you are interested in seeing the full message along with some great worship music, click here.
